Description
Able to change colors in as little as two seconds, the amazing flounder is an ambush predator.
It's flat as a pancake, with an odd looking head. The right eye migrates toward the left allowing the flounder to see using both eyes while remaining on it's side. These are small fish that are mostly found in the oceans, coastal water, near the docks, bridges, and reefs.
In the family of Paralichthyidae, you can find over 100 species with many different common names including, sea chameleon, flat fish, sand flounder, large-tooth flounder, mud flounder, summer flounder and fluke.
